Blue Terra Energy Residential Energy Audits
Blue Terra Energy performs professional energy assessments, detailing home energy use. Residential Energy audits are performed to reveal energy efficiency problems, helping uncover some simple ways to reduces household energy consumption.
Home energy audits provide room-by-room examination of a residence, as well as examination of past utility bills. Professional energy auditors from Blue Terra Energy will also provide assessments using blower door tests, thermographic scans using infrared camera and furnace efficiency measures with a combustion analyzing equipment.
Blue Terra Energy is offering installation of free energy kits to qualifying customers through a partnership with the Efficiency United Program to assist in energy efficiency improvements.
Efficiency United Energy Audit Program
Blue Terra Energy (BTE) is partnering in the Efficiency United Program which is a consolidation of Utilities, partnering to assist their customers in achieving energy efficiency. They are currently offering a low cost Energy Audit and Weatherization program designed to help single family homeowners reduce their energy consumption.

If you are a customer of the above utilities, and have a gas water heater and gas space heat, Blue Terra Energy will:
- Conduct an energy efficiency survey of your home
- Install an energy efficient “Base kit”
- Install 1 Programmable Thermostat Model T705 by PRO 1
- (Must replace a non-programmable thermostat)
If you are also a customer of the following participating utilities, you may receive up to 12, 60W equivalent CFL bulbs:
- Upper Peninsula Power company (UPPCO)
- Wisconsin Electric Energies (WE Energies)
- Xcel (Gas and Electric)
The energy efficient Base Kit includes the installation of:
- 1 low-flow shower head, 1.75gpm
- 2 low-flow faucet aerators
- 6 feet of pipe insulation for your hot water heater
- Up to 12 CFL bulbs
How it Works
Call or e-mail Blue Terra Energy with address and contact information to get on the appointment list. We will schedule a walk-through of your home to perform the energy use survey and install the energy efficiency products you qualify for and provide you with a summary report recommending additional steps you can take to continue to improve your home energy efficiency.
Blue Terra Energy estimated the value of the Kit, bulbs and thermostat at $85 and the resulting yearly savings at October 2010 energy prices to be $151 per year.
